a Shunt in the right direction

What a Yard Shunter actually is

  • A strong tractor (often diesel or electric) made by companies like Terberg for moving trailers, lorries, or containers short distances.
  • You sit in a cab like a lorry.
  • It has a fifth wheel or hitch at the back to connect trailers.
  • Used in ports, warehouses, factories, and yards to spot trailers exactly where needed.
  • Much better for tight turns than big road lorries.
